Fanfic: Lisa was going through her reports randomly when she found the ones regarding an attack by the rebel Zentreadis at Monument City. The most particular part was regarding Minmei’s concert there and the mention of RDF personnel who was at the scene. “Isn’t that a coincidence? Minmei’s concert was there when it was under attack and Rick managed to show up just in time.” She thought to herself.
She was deep in her own thought that she didn’t even notice that Claudia had entered her office. She startled when Claudia tapped her shoulder. “Who came just in time honey?” “Rick lied to me two days ago. He told me that he was just happened to be in the area when he was informed to assist Monument City.” Claudia sat on the edge of Lisa’s desk and gave her an assuring smile. “I’m sure he has his reasons for doing so.” Lisa folded her arms in front of her chest and closed her eyes while reclining on her chair. “I’m sure his reason was for not letting me know that he went to see Minmei behind my back.”
“Just ask him to tell you the truth. I’ll bet he’ll tell you his reasons. Trust me.” Claudia gave patted Lisa’s shoulder and left the office. Lisa left the office and headed towards the airfield where the Skull one will taxi in any minute. As she expected, the Skull one had came into a complete stop right in front of her. Rick saw the looks on her face and sensed trouble but he shook off the thoughts from his head. He climbed down his veritech and approached her with a smile. He was about to give her a kiss when she stepped back and folded her arms.
“Would you mind telling me again what were you doing in Monument City two days ago?” Rick took of his gloves and placed it in his helmet. “I was patrolling around the wasteland outside the city when I was told that there was an attack there so I came in and help. Is there something wrong?”
She stepped closer to him and gave him a serious look. “Or was it for the sake of Minmei’s concert?” Rick knew that she’d find out about it and he also knew that lying to her in the first place was a bad idea. But by telling her the truth now wouldn’t make any much difference to her. To her, the point was to see Minmei. “Alright I lied. But I lied because I thought that I might hurt you but….” Lisa immediately interrupted him. “But what Rick? But you still have feelings for her is that it?” Rick was about to continue but she stopped him. “I thought you loved me Rick? But if this is the way you wanted it, then this is how it’s going to be. Don’t you ever come looking for me ever again!”
She ran off before Rick could see her tears. Rick was about to run after her when General Maistroff walked off the helicopter on the airfield. He had to stop and stood in attention to salute the General. After the General had gone, he had lost track of where Lisa had gone to. In his mind, he knew if he’d try the trick with the bridge crew, Lisa would know it was his plan. So he went to the locker room to change into his uniform before he went to see Claudia at her place.
At Claudia’s, Rick had brought some pizza for dinner. While they were eating, Rick explained to her what happened exactly at Monument City and the thing he was about to say when Lisa interrupted him and didn’t give him the chance to explain.
“So you see Claudia, I just couldn’t understand why is she so angry at me and she wouldn’t even bother to listen to my explanations.” “Just give the woman some time and she’ll eventually cool off and then you can explain it to her. If she won’t talk to you these next few days then, well, just hold your temper.” Rick gave her a smile and thanked her for her time and advice as he left for his place. On his way home, Rick had found hope that they’ll get back together again.
