Rules & Information of the Website::

• Use the 'Send your Fanfic' section to send your fanfic (duh!). I mean, tried to no send it to me in an attachement file, because that's sometimes people send me virus and weird stuff, this way I know what I recive is actually...a fanfic.
• If you are a minor, don't read the fanfics marked as O18W.
• When you want to review a fanfic, be polite!
• Remember to properly rate your fanfic:
  • AP: All People = Todo espectador.
  • AP15: For Teenagers = Adolescentes.
  • O18: Over 18 = Mayores de edad 18 años por tipo de lenguaje, violencia o escenas de sexo.
  • O18W: Over 18 and Wise = Mayores de 18 años por escenas subidas claramente de tono.
  FORBIDDEN: YOU CAN'T, IN ANY WAY, USE THE MPAA RATING SYSTEM HERE (THE ONE OF MOVIES) IN ANY PART OF YOUR FANFIC.

• Fix your grammar. If you can... use a beta (someone else who can read your story before you send it and fix those little nasty details)
• Feedback is optional.
• You have to add an author name to the fanfic, you can put a nickname or your real name, doens't matter.
• If you write a O18W fanfic, consider the possibilty of a uncesored version so everybody can read it, but this is just a sugestion, not a rule! ;)
• BASIC RULE HERE: I'm rewriting this to make very clear this basic rule. As I said in the cover page of this website, this is a personal website of mine. What I am trying to do here is to make a romantic fanfic archive about Robotech and Macross, centered particularly (but not exclusively) on the traditional couples of those series. What does this mean? It means that if you, a fanfic writer want to write, for example, about Rick and Lisa, Max and Miriya, Dana and Zor or Scott and Ariel, you are very welcomed to send it here. But if you want to write something different, for example, Lisa, Rick, Max, Scott, Lancer or another character romantically involved with another character or an original character, you can do it, as long as you warn your readers. It's okay. Also the same goes for original characters involved with another original character that lives inside the Robotech or Macross universe. That's why, as of today, September 30th, 2008, I added in the "Send your fic" section, a new field so you can warn your readers about what's ahead.
• The Minmei/Minmay issue: It is not news that I don't like the character of Minmei/Minmay at all, not even a little bit. I thought it was clear that "I" don't like her doesn't mean that everybody else should think that way. In my previous rule here, I wrote this: "We love Lisa Hayes here! So...Minmei is out of question. You can't make a fanfic where Minmei wins Rick over Lisa! Rick Hunter is trademark and property of Lisa Hayes ;) Of course you can write about her, just PLEASE PLEASE, don't let her win at the end...look a new boyfriend for her or whatever! Just...remember I am 100% Pro Misa/Lisa and Hikaru/Rick". If we think about the Rick (Hikaru)/Lisa (Misa)/Minmei (Minmay) love triangle, there are fans of Lisa (Misa) and fans of Minmei (Minmay). This website is for fans of Lisa (Misa). If you are a fan of Minmei (Minmay), maybe this website is not the proper place for you, because we like the other one! It’s as simple as that. I am very sure that there must be more than one website dedicated to the anime singer. Here, we go for the other one. IN TERMS OF WRITING about Minmei here, OF COURSE you can write about her, but she is not the main focus for us. That's what I meant with the "PLEASE PLEASE, don't let her win at the end..." part. Basically, I am NOT forbidding her here, I just prefer to read about the other characters, and so do most of the visitors to this website.
• If even after reading all this, you have an idea for a fanfic and want to send it here, but you are not sure if this is the right place for it, email me at , and we can talk about it.
• Maybe this next part it is obvious, but I will clarify it anyway. Because this is a personal website, all these rules are for you. For me they are guides, I can change them when I want. The fanfic world is an eternal Work in Progress, so you never know what new things are coming along and for me, as the owner of this website and a fan of fanfics, it is an important thing to be open to check if these new ideas go well with me (and this website) or not.
• Sometimes fanfics have more mature contects, like some violence, strong language, or sex scenes, things for adults. I am not going to stop creativity, but I do believe that there is a certain age for everything. I don't want people underage reading this things. I know it is easy on the Internet to find adult fanfics, but as long as I am in charge here, underage people will not acess easly to them in my website. Plus, I don't want any troubles. So, here is the deal:
  If you want to read a chapter or fanfic marked as O18W, send me an e-mail to , telling me your name or nickname, your age, birthday and how you knew about Robotech/Macross. A little bit of you so I can realize you are telling the truth and YOU ARE more than 18 years old.Don't tried to look for the link yourself. Maybe I'm not a computer genious but I can hide something If I want!.THE E-MAIL MUST HAVE THE SUBJECT: DYRL Age Statement (Because I have filters, so if you don't put that subject, I'm not going to recive it!). SO, you guys write me a nice e-mail, telling me how old are you and that you are not a pervert, and I will send you the link as an answer! good deal, right?
• From now on, I will decide if a fanfic can be on my website or not. I can deny to upload a fanfic if I think there is a posibility that the fanfic is a copy of another fanfic or if I think the fanfic is not serious.
• This is the disclaimer of DYRL in english. It is in spanish everywhere, but I think it would be easy to put it in here, just in case. DYRL Fanfic Lovers don't want to broke any law or copyright of Robotech or Macross. This is a website for fans and made by a fan, and the intention is just to have fun. Robotech characters , situations, storyline and everything about them are property of their owners. The same about Macross. Please don't sue me, I have no money, just a lot of imagination. I don't get any money for this, that is why I am broke every single month, paying bills ¬¬... Thanks!
• About the copy of a fanfic: Sometimes (thankfully I have never have this problem with english fanfics) people just copy-paste another fanfic or book, change the charecters and "create" a fanfic. You must understand that I don't know every single fanfic or book in the world, so I am not sure if what you send me is, indeed, a new fanfic. So, in case (let's hope this never happend) that a reader thinks that a fanfic is a copy of another one or another book, or movie or whatever, please contact DIRECTLY the author of the fanfic and me, by email. If you just complain to me, I will forward the complain to the author anyway. I think people should be responsable of their opinions, with a full name, so be brave, and tell what do you think to the person in question. The decision here will be always the same: I will take the fanfic offline of the website. Period. I know this sound harsh, but I am not judge... I will not get involve in personal problems or began an investigation about it. Sorry, but this how things are. Thanks.
• For the love of God, don't write badfics or Mary Sue.
• To help the fight against SPAM, I add a Captcha (from the website reCaptcha from the Carnegie Mellon University) at the bottom of the "Send your Fanfic" section. You need to solve this catpcha (image with odd letters and numbers) to avoid SPAM bots. This way you will help me, because from 10 emails with fanfics I recibed in my email, 9 are SPAM. I Also add a MailHide (from the same website of reCaptcha) with this, all the emails of the writers, who want to recibed feedback and opinions, will show only if you solve the Capcha first. Example: carl...@fanfics.cl This way, all your emails are safe from SPAM bots. AND, I also changed in every single fanfic the symbol @ for the word AT (in spanish ARROBA), and they are not linked, so you will the emails like this, example: carlafoxATfanfics.cl.
  With all this mesures, I hope to help all you (and me) against SPAM, which is a pain the butt every day and make you all feel safe with your data here and keep enjoying the website. If you have any questions, you can email me.
• About the Updates of DYRL: Because of my current job (I am a journalist), I don't have the time I used to have to update the website (everyday), so please be patience.
