fanfic = A/N: I don’t own Macross or Robotech. This is only an off shoot of having read too many Fan Fics about Macross and Robotech. This is my first Fan Fic. I am using the original Macross story line but there as some crossovers to the Robotech series. Anyway, for the Robotech fans to relate, Hikaru is Rick, Misa is Lisa respectively. Please read and review and do give me constructive criticisms. I do need them to improve on my story telling and writing skills. Thanks.
Chapter 1 - A New Competition
It’s been years, almost two decades actually since Misa was bothered by another woman with respect to her relationship with Hikaru – that was Minmei. Now the only Miss Macross has settled to have a family of her own with Kaifun. But more than that, she have seen, have felt and have been very much convinced she was the lone recipient of Hikaru’s love ever since Kamjin’s final attack on Macross, or maybe even before that, had she only mustered enough boldness to tell that clueless man of what she felt about him, that he owned her heart, her mind, body and soul, her whole being for that matter. She was his for the taking, ever since she even can’t remember when. Misa confidently knew, Minmei or no Minmei, Hikaru was hers. Memories of how their love began never failed to spring up a sigh followed by a radiant smile on her lips and made her emerald eyes sparkle. Those sweet memories were the ones that kept her going, breathing, especially during times when she away from the man she loves, due to work and duties.
But just a while ago, an incident happened that broke her heart. She figured in a very nasty confrontation with a young woman - a young, sweet woman she never thought would go against her. She felt betrayed. It seems this woman has become her rival for her husband’s attention and time. Worst of all, this woman even questioned and raised doubts about her husband’s love for her. This lady, with whom Hikaru have been spending considerable amount of time has grown too dear and closer to him. She even felt that his young woman seemed to know more about her husband more than her. This lady gets more attention and time from Hikaru since she was always too busy with her duties as admiral. Yes, the admiral of Megaroad-1 and of the very first space migration project aimed at preserving humanity and its culture by looking for other planets colonize. What a tough job indeed. Hikaru was also an admiral but was specifically in-charge of the military and security operations of the mission. But for her, she was to oversee everything. It has taken its toll. And what a great expense it is, she just realized. She thought at that moment that her relationship with Hikaru, and even his feelings for her, might be slipping slowly but surely out of her hands.
Now, she is all alone in her room, curled, embracing a pillow, face buried in it. She was crying in pain, questioning herself where she did wrong. She felt so insecure, unwanted and ugly. Worst, depression slowly crept to her senses since she was also on her sixth month, carrying Hikaru’s baby in her womb. She can still vividly remember all the words blasted against her by that young woman. But more specifically, and the one that truly hurt her was when she started saying that she doesn’t deserve her husband, that her husband should be with someone else, someone young and beautiful and has the time. She even said that she was the ugliest woman she had ever seen. That did it. She wanted to slap this young woman but instead retreated in tears to where she would usually hide herself when she was troubled – her room, actually hers and Hikaru’s room. But as she was retreating, another barrage of words came from the tongue of the woman saying that she was a coward, that she was weak and unable to withstand all the things she was confronted with.
“Were all that she said true?” she asked herself, still curled and hugging a pillow, now wet with tears.
“I couldn’t believe she did that to me. Oh, Hikaru, come home now please, I need you now… I need you to confirm to me that everything I heard today is not true. I need to feel your love.” As if in a prayer she said to herself. It was already past nine o’clock in the evening, Macross City time. She was getting more depressed by the minute and she feels like snapping to insanity. She needed him.
