Even the new situation of earth was not up for it, my father and several other high level members of the army, Henry Gloval among them, were not pretty sure about the fact if the toy that taught us so much about Robotech Technology, and the brand new source found in Mayan Island, along with the witness and insight knowledge of its people, were abandoned or lost. All of them were certain that soon or later the owners of such power would return to claim it, and we could not be sure if they would do it peacefully.

But the new union of mankind strengthened us, it double all efforts… scientific and military. Just 3 months after the peace sign, Macross City was in fact a City… “It’s not New York yet, but it’s a start” Claudia used to say all the time.

We had our just girls’ days, walking around the city and it felt so good, Claudia was very similar to Vanessa, they both loved shopping, it was one of her many hobbies, and she made me to try on clothes totally different from my style, sometimes she even forced me to buy them.

We’ve just visited a small, but very fashionable boutique new in town; she wanted a dress for her anniversary with Roy and some lingerie and we were on our way to have a little snack, when we passed by a record store, I could not hide my happiness.

Claudia took a box that included all the seasons of the series and I picked up some DVD’s of old movies, Casablanca among them, we paid our purchases and continue our way toward our coffee house. At the next afternoon I understood Claudia’s “no, he won’t”, Roy was giving that kind of training during the morning and by the afternoon it was by Lieutenant Shin Kudo. I had seen Kudo in the base and as all female officers I thought he was really handsome but cold, in fact the only person he used to have a kind of civilize conversation of more than two words was Roy.

There was something about Kudo… something that made me feel an empathy with him. After a week I realized why, he was a masculine version of Lisa Hayes. Cold, distant, with his mind set 100% in flying, he was an excellent pilot as Roy Fokker… in fact both of them were the best pilots I’d met. For an odd reason I wanted to know more about him, there was something about him that intrigue me, on one hand his manly presence, he was very attractive in an opposite manner from Karl, but also it was strange I felt attraction for him but not sexual, when Karl died that part of me died with him, I became incapable to feel physical or emotional attraction for other man, at least I thought so until I met certain strong headed pilot.

I was not indifferent for him, I also intrigued him because one night I went out for dinner with Roy and Claudia, and that Captain Gloval could not join us, the conversation took an estrange sift towards Shin Kudo

- How is your practice with Kudo?

- Ok, why

- Just ok

- Well as good as it could be for a person that hadn’t flight nothing since military school.

- Come’n Lisa don’t be so modest, you are pretty good – I was about to answer Claudias’ remark when she completed – but maybe it could be below the high standards of perfectionist Lisa Hayes.
