Fanfic: In the SDF-1, Lisa was discussing with Captain Gloval on her quest to persuade her father to negotiate peace with the Zentreadi. “You know the possibility that you won’t be allowed to come back up here is great Commander. Are you sure you that you want to do this?” “Yes Captain. We need to stop this meaningless war before it gets out of hand.” Captain Gloval paused for a moment and sighed. “Very well Commander. You have my blessing.” “Thank you Captain. I’ll be leaving first thing in the morning.” She then excused herself from the Captain’s office and headed towards her quarters. 
On route to her quarters, she ran into Claudia. “What’s with the gloominess?” “Claudia, I’m leaving for Earth tomorrow to see my father and just to tell you that I might not be able to come back to this ship.” Claudia sighed and folded her arms in front of her chest as they walked towards their quarters. “Are you going to tell Rick about it?” Lisa looked down to the floor and played with her fingers. “I think I’ll tell him before I leave tomorrow.” When they got to their quarters, they bid farewell to each other and turned themselves in for the night.  
In another room, Rick was thinking of having a candle light dinner with Lisa tomorrow night. “I’ll bet she’ll love it. An Italian candle light dinner.” He was drifting in his own thoughts while sitting in front of his desk. He was pulled back into reality when he heard someone knocked on his door. When the door opened, he saw Max came in. “Sorry for bothering you boss. Just to tell you that I won’t be able to go to the gym with you tomorrow because Captain Gloval has assigned me and Miriya on an escort duty.” “That’s ok Max. I’ll be fine on my own. Who’ll you be escorting anyway?” Max gave his friend a confused look and shrugged his shoulder. “Beats me. I’ll only be informed by the Captain first thing after we’ve reported in. Well, see you after the flight.” “Take care Max.” As soon as his friend closed the door and left, he climbed on his bed and pictured himself and Lisa during the dinner he planned for the next night. After a few minutes, he closed his eyes and drifted into a slumber. 
The sound of the morning trumpet woke everybody on the Alaska Base. Azzedy opened his eyes and rubbed it with the back of his hand and saw his wife was still asleep. He likes to tease his wife especially when she was asleep. He bit her neck with his lips several times until she couldn’t stand she had to get up. “Not that I didn’t enjoy it, but do you have to do that rapidly? It tickles you know.” “Not as ticklish as this.” He started to tickle her waist as she tried to dodge it but she couldn’t. They were laughing until they heard Jack knocking on the door telling them that they were needed in the briefing room in fifteen minutes. Jennifer got up and was about to head to the shower, she returned to the bed and pulled her husband into the showers. “This may take more than fifteen minutes.” Jennifer looked at him with boring look. “Don’t you ever think of anything else? It’s the only way we can shower quickly so that we could hit breakfast before reporting to the briefing room.” 
After a while they reported to the briefing room and saw a few other Wolf Squadron pilots. They saluted Commander Chase and proceeded to their seats. “Now people, we have a shuttle coming from the SDF-1 in approximately one hour. As soon as they’re in the atmosphere, you will escort them back here. I know there won’t be any threats but I don’t want to take any chances. That’s all for now. Dismiss, and good luck.” They all exited the room and headed towards the locker room. 
In the hangar of the SDF-1, Lisa has already boarded the space shuttle and it was about to taxi towards the flight deck when she asked the crew member on board to page Lieutenant Hunter for her. After a few minutes, Rick’s voice came through. “Rick, this is Lisa. I’ll be leaving for earth and I just want to let you know that I’m sorry for not telling you any sooner.” “When are you leaving?” “I’m on board the shuttle right now. Please don’t be upset. You must understand how important it is to stop this war from going on. I might not be able to come back to this ship. Rick, I will always love you Rick. I’ll try to contact you as frequent as I can. Good bye for now.” She signed off the intercom, Rick ran towards the observation room to see the flight deck.  
There he saw a blue and a red veritech lined up right behind the shuttle. “Lisa. Why didn’t you tell me sooner? Please keep her safe guys.” He thought to himself. After they’ve all departed the Prometheus, he walked back to the base and changed into his uniform. The shuttle was not that far from earth’s orbit when they were attacked by Zentreadi battle pods. “Max, let’s do it!” They transformed into battloid mode and fended off the attack but it there were too many of them. Rick was on his way to the base to check up the flight roster when he received a call from the bridge that the Sterlings are in trouble and he was needed to assist them. “Oh no! Lisa!” He ran to the locker room to change into his flight suit before jumping into his modified Skull one. After his Veritech was loaded on the flight deck, he requested for their locations.  
“Head towards 70448.” “I’ve no idea what you just said Sammy.” On the bridge, Claudia put her hands on her hips while looking at Sammy. “Sammy, aren’t you suppose to distribute the new code book to all squad leaders yesterday?” “I thought he won’t be needing it today because he was off duty. I’m sorry.” After she had apologized to Claudia, he gave him the old code. “Head towards Delta 5.” “Thanks, I got it.” He took off and it took him only thirty seconds to reach there with the new armor.  
He switched to guardian mode and almost got thrown out of his seat if it weren’t for his harness. The upgraded veritech has the power and speed of ten regular fighters. It only took him a few minutes to dispose the battle pods. Max was glad to see his friend had showed up in a nick of time. “Control, this is escort, we’re returning home. Skull leader is now taking over the escort.” 
“Commander Hayes, there’s an incoming call for you from Skull leader who is now escorting us.” Lisa asked the crewman to patch it up to her. “Thanks for saving me Rick.” “No problem. Now what is this about you’re not returning to the ship? Are you trying to give me a heart attack or something?” Lisa looked out the window of the shuttle and saw Rick’s Veritech next to it. “It’s just that I have to negotiate with my father to put an end to this war. I’ve a feeling that my father wouldn’t let me return to the ship but this is the risk I’m willing to take.” “Lisa, you’re about to enter the earth’s orbit. Before I go, I’d like you to know that I love you. Please hurry back. I’ll miss you.” As soon as he cut his transmission, he veered away from the shuttle and flew back towards the SDF-1. 
The Wolf Squadron was flying right below the shuttle’s last radio transmission before they went silent while entering the heat zone. As soon as they’ve picked up the signal from the shuttle, Eric commanded the squadron to escort it to Alaska Base. “Base, this is Wolf leader. We’ve made visual contact with Shuttle 1.” Eric aligned his veritech next to the shuttle to acknowledge the pilot. “Shuttle 1, we’ll be escorting you to Alaska Base.”  
Minutes later, the shuttle landed on the private air field while the veritechs headed towards the fighters air field next to it. After the fighters had landed, Jennifer caught a glimpse on the passenger of the shuttle they’ve escorted. “Isn’t that Lieutenant Commander Lisa Hayes?” Azzedy looked over his shoulder as he climbed down from his Veritech. “Yeah. It’s her alright. Wonder why she’s down here?” Izzy came from behind and interrupted them. “That’s because the Admiral over there is her father.” Jennifer whistled in amazement as they started to walk towards the locker room. “It must be something important that she had to come all the way down here.” 
After changing into their uniforms, Jack, Izzy and the Azhars went to the mess hall to grab some lunch. While they were sitting enjoying their lunch, their attention was taken by the live telecast from the SDF-1. Commander Chase was looking for a place to sit when Jennifer signaled her to be at their table. When she was seated, Jack gave her an annoying grin. “Now don’t start with me Jack.” She was pointing her fork to him and Jack lifted his hands in a surrender position. Her eyes than caught the live telecast as well. “Look guys, Captain Gloval is talking to a micronized Zentreadi ambassador.”  
Izzy asked one of the mess worker to turn up the volume. After a while, the noisy mess hall turned to dead silence when they saw millions of Zentreadi battleships surrounded the earth. Moments later, an announcement was made to all commanders to report to the briefing room right away. “Jack turned to Azzedy and smiled. “Well, I’ve a feeling that we’ll be seeing action sooner than I think.” They finished their lunch and headed towards to the command centre to see their flight roster.  
As soon as they got there, another announcement was made to all veritech pilots to report to the briefing room immediately. Izzy turned to Jack with a smirk on her face. “As you were saying Jack?” Jack laughed at her as they proceeded towards the briefing room. They were surprised to see all pilots from every single squadron were summoned to be in the briefing. Jack scratched his head looking at the crowded room. “Now this is something new. The briefing room was never this pack before.” Jennifer patted Jack’s back and smiled. “That’s because the whole family’s here.” Everyone stood at attention when they saw Commander Chase came in. After they were ordered to be as they were, the briefing began. “As most of you saw on the live telecast earlier on, the whole Zentreadi armada has surrounded the earth. The Admiral has ordered me to scramble all fighters to assist the SDF-1 to prevent the enemy vessels from entering the earth’s atmosphere. You will be launched in two hours. Good luck and may you come back safely. Dismiss.”  
After exiting the briefing room, Jack, Izzy and the Azhars headed towards the hangar to check up on their Veritechs. When they got there, they were surprised to see their Veritechs were being armed with the super armors like the ones that they saw on the monitors from the command centre the other day. Jennifer puts Azzedy’s arm into hers and rested her head on his shoulder. “Well, at least your wish came true for all of us.” Azzedy smiled and gave her a kiss on top of her head. “Eddy, do you think we can survive this?” Azzedy sighed heavily and released her arms from his. He then held her by her waist and kissed her forehead. “I promise. We will. Along with Jack and Izzy.” Jack looked at them and smiled. They made a group hug before heading towards the locker room to change into their flight suit.
